Michael Hunt BA LLB (Hons) has practised mining law in Western Australia for nearly 40 years. He was a partner of the national law firm Blake Dawson Waldron which he left in February 1996 to establish Hunt & Humphry as a specialist project law firm.
Michael has been recognised nationally and internationally as a leading mining lawyer. He was identified by Bulletin magazine as one of Australia’s “Top 50” commercial lawyers, principally for his work in mining law. For many years he served on the Western Australian Government’s Mining Industry Liaison Committee which regularly reviews the condition of the mining industry and assesses the need for changes in law and practice. He is named in Asia Law Leading Lawyers for his mining law expertise.
Michael is a former National President and founding member of AMPLA (the association of Australian mining lawyers). He has also maintained a role in the mining corporate world by participating over 25 years as a director of ASX listed exploration and mining companies.
