Adrian Buzo is currently Lecturer at the Department of Linguistics of Macquarie University. He has a Master’s degree from Dankook University, Seoul, in Korean Language and Literature and a doctorate in Asian Studies from Monash University, where he was also Senior Lecturer in Korean Studies. He has also worked as a translator/interpreter and was Chair of the NAATI Korean panel from 1982 to 2007.
He has also served on a number of Australian government bodies, including the Australia Korea Foundation (1990-2000), and has published widely in the field of Korean language and studies.
The second edition of his The Making of Modern Korea, was published by Routledge in 2007.
