2014 Harvey T. Strosberg Essay Prize Winner Announced

Harvey T. Strosberg, Q.C. and Irwin Law Inc. are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2014 Harvey T. Strosberg Essay Prize for the best student essay on class actions in Canada is Samantha Greer.

Ms. Greer is a JD student at the University of Toronto. Last summer, she worked in Blake, Cassels & Graydon’s securities group and was seconded to a major Canadian bank. The previous summer, she had worked in the litigation and intellectual property groups at Blakes. She is currently studying abroad at the Center for Transnational Legal Studies in London and will graduate from the University of Toronto this spring.

Her prize-winning paper, “Mi casa es su casa: Van Breda as the House Rule for Global Securities Class Actions in Ontario,” will appear in Volume 11, Issue 1 of the Canadian Class Action Review. She will also receive a prize of $10,000.
