Aldo Chircop

Professor Chircop was director of the Marine Affairs Program at Dalhousie University between 1992 and 2001, as well as Dalhousie University's MELP from 2001 to 2003. He also held directorships at the Mediterranean Institute (University of Malta), 1988-89 and the International Ocean Institute, 1988-91. Professor Chircop has published widely in the fields of marine and environmental law and policy, law of the sea, and integrated ocean management. He is co-editor of the University of Chicago Press' Ocean Yearbook. He is also counsel to Patterson Palmer Law (Halifax Office). From 2003 to 2005, Professor Chircop held the Canadian Chair in Marine Environmental Protection at the International Maritime Organization's World Maritime University in Malmö, Sweden.
