Emir Aly Crowne-Mohammed

Professor Emir Aly Crowne-Mohammed is an Assistant Professor at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. His teaching and research interests lie in all areas of Intellectual Property Law (domestic, comparative and international), Information Technology Law, Gaming Law, Medical Law, Torts and Contract Drafting/Negotiation.

Along with the Windsor Review of Legal and Social Issues, he founded the Canadian Law Student Conference – the only undergraduate Law student conference in Canada to showcase the research of LLB and JD students. He also founded the Harold G. Fox Moot (http://www.ipmootcanada.ca) – the first and only national competitive Moot in Intellectual Property Law. Professor Crowne-Mohammed has over forty (40) publications to his name, including publications in the Oxford Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice, the Gaming Law Review and Economics, the Privacy & Data Security Law Journal, the Advocates’ Quarterly, and the Richmond Journal of Law & Technology, among others (http://www.uwindsor.ca/law/emir). He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Canadian Patent Reporter and the Gaming Law Review & Economics; and is an Appointed Member of the Justices of the Peace Review Council (http://www.ontariocourts.on.ca/jprc/en/).

He serves as Faculty Advisor to several student groups including the Windsor Intellectual Property and Information Technology Group, the Women & the Law Group, the Black Law Students’ Association, the Corporate & Commercial Law Club and the South Asian Law Students’ Association. He also Chairs a Judicial Panel at the University of Windsor, and is a member of Senate. Professor Crowne-Mohammed was named Professor of Year by the Students’ Law Society at the University of Windsor in 2008, and again in 2009.
