Michael King

Dr Michael S King served as Perth Drug Court magistrate between 2005 and 2007 and as Geraldton magistrate between 2001 and 2005. In Geraldton he was involved in developing three therapeutic jurisprudence court programs.

Dr King has published extensively in journals in Australia, the USA and Europe on therapeutic jurisprudence, legal practice, judging, problem-solving courts, offender rehabilitation, restorative justice, meditation and natural law thought.

He writes a blog on therapeutic jurisprudence, developed and maintains the Australasian Therapeutic Jurisprudence Clearinghouse and has produced a bench book on solution-focused judging for the Australasian Institute of Judicial Administration. He is currently a senior lecturer in law at Monash University.
