Valerie Oosterveld
Valerie Oosterveld is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Western Ontario, where she teaches Public International Law, International Human Rights Law, and International Criminal Law. She has degrees from University of Ottawa (B.Soc.Sc.), University of Toronto (LL.B.), and Columbia University (LL.M. and J.S.D.). Before joining the faculty in July 2005, Valerie served as a legal officer in Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in the division of United Nations, Human Rights and Economic Law. In this role, she provided legal advice on international criminal accountability for genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.
