Ben Boer

In July 2006, Professor Boer was appointed as Co-Director (International), IUCN (World Conservation Union) Academy of Environmental Law. He will be based at the University of Ottawa for a period of two years.

He is Professor in Environmental Law at University of Sydney and a member of the Australian Centre for Environmental Law, Sydney. Formerly he was the Corrs Chambers Westgarth Professor of Environmental Law, Faculty of Law, University of Sydney (1992-1996).

Professor Boer has served as a consultant to various intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations in the following countries: China, Federated States of Micronesia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal, New Caledonia, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Vietnam, and Samoa, as well as conducting research for the various departments of the Australian Federal Government.
