Laurence Maher
Laurence Maher is a graduate of the University of Melbourne and Australian National University. From 1989 to 1994, he was a Senior Lecturer and then an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Melbourne, teaching Administrative Law, Legal Process, Media Law, and Torts. From 1977 to 1982, Maher was Editor of the Law Institute Journal. He co-authored (with M. Sexton) The Legal Mystique: The Role of Lawyers in Australian Society (Angus & Robertson, 1982).His practice at the Victorian Bar principally involves administrative law and tribunals (federal and state), employee wrongful dismissal claims, defamation, and miscellaneous contract disputes.
