Gerard McCoy

Professor McCoy is Professor of Law at City University of Hong Kong. He teaches LLB and LLM students at the University of Cantebury. He regularly prosecutes criminal cases, including in the High Court of Fiji. He has been accepted as an expert legal witness in the highest courts of Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and the United Kingdom. He was appointed as a Deputy Judge of the High Court of Hong Kong in 2001. In 2004 he was appointed by the Attorney-General of Fiji and the Fiji Law Reform Commission to completely rewrite the Criminal Law and Procedure of Fiji.
