Gregory Lyon

For the past 17 years, Gregory Lyon has practised at the Victorian Bar, principally in criminal law, but also in aspects of commercial law. His work entails appearances in all jurisdictions, particularly criminal trials in the Supreme Court and appeals to the Court of Appeal. Greg has a particular interest in cases that overlap the civil and criminal jurisdictions and has appeared for company directors, stockbrokers, and other professionals before a variety of courts, tribunals, and commissions such as ASIC. Greg recently appeared as junior counsel for ASIC in the first civil penalty proceedings for insider trading. Greg holds a Doctorate from Deakin University for his thesis examining Australia's insider trading laws.
