Kathy Laster

Kathy Laster's background combines law and social science. She is Executive Officer of the Child Welfare and Legislation Review Committee (Govt of Victoria) and consultant to government agencies including the Refugee Tribual and the Review of Post-arrival Programmes and Services. Kathy has extensive teaching experience both nationally and internationally in a variety of disciplines including history, criminology, public policy, social work, and law. She has also worked in community legal service and maintains a committment to public interest law and community organisations, such as the University of Melbourne Archives Board and the Board of the Ecumenical Migration Centre. She has served on the editorial boards of a number of international journals, such as Justice Quarterly and Women and Criminal Justice, as well as on Australian peer review journals such as the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Criminology and Law in Context.
