David M. Tanovich

David Tanovich is an associate professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor where he teaches in the areas of criminal law and procedure, systemic racism, evidence, and legal ethics. Previously, he was a criminal appellate lawyer with Pinkofsky Lockyer where he appeared frequently in the Supreme Court of Canada and Ontario Court of Appeal. He is a former law clerk to Chief Justice Antonio Lamer of the Supreme Court of Canada and an LL.M. graduate of the New York University School of Law. He has published numerous books and articles on criminal law and is frequently cited by appellate and trial courts in Canada.
