Mark Freeman

Mark Freeman completed his BA at McGill University, his LL.B at the University of Ottawa, and his LL.M at Columbia University. He has published widely in the field of human rights, and is the author of the forthcoming Truth Commissions and Procedural Fairness (Cambridge University Press, 2005). As a specialist in the field of transitional justice, he has conducted missions to a wide range of countries including Morocco, Kenya, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Sri Lanka, Colombia, and Serbia and Montenegro. He has taught at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law and is Senior Research Fellow in Human Rights at the University of Toronto's Munk Centre for International Studies. Currently based in Toronto and Brussels, Mr. Freeman is Senior Project Manager for the International Center for Transitional Justice.
