Ombudsman

  1. An officer of the legislature with power to investigate complaints of administrative wrongdoing and to recommend corrective action. The office exists in all the provinces (except Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island) and also in the Yukon. There is no general federal ombudsman.
